Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and later pay for the product, we may receive a commission from the vendor at no extra cost to you. This is how the site is funded.
Where those links are
Only on individual tool review pages, in the “Visit” button near the top. That is deliberate. The homepage ranking contains no outbound links to any vendor at all, and articles link to our own review pages rather than straight to a signup form. If you never click a Visit button, we never earn anything from your visit.
Not every tool has an affiliate programme, and we list plenty that do not. You cannot tell from the ranking which is which, because the ranking is not built from that.
What it does not influence
Position in the ranking, the 1 to 5 rating, the contents of the pros and cons, and whether a tool is included at all. The scoring method is published in full on how we rank and commission rate is not one of the inputs.
Concretely: several tools in the top ten pay us nothing, and at least one tool with a generous commission sits in the bottom half because it is not very good. If commissions were driving the order, the order would look different.
How to opt out
Type the vendor’s domain into your browser directly instead of using our button. The price you pay is identical either way. We would rather you did that than not trust what you are reading.
No sponsored content
We do not publish paid reviews, paid placements, vendor-written articles, or link insertions. No vendor is shown a review before it publishes, and no vendor has the ability to get a criticism removed. If a company offers money for a better position, the answer is no, and it does not change the review.
